Once again Coach Hickey’s 7th grade team provided the excitement for the day with another come from behind win! The Standings for WEEK 3 have been posted. Walpole came away from Needham with a .500 record last Sunday. The 6th and 7th grade games were probably the most exciting finishes to a football game as you’ll find anywhere! We’ve escaped the 2010 regular season with absolutely beautiful weather for football games. This past Sunday Walpole hosted Norwood for the season closer. Norwood, still smarting from the week 1 crushing it received at the hands of Walpole, came to Turco field looking for redemption. Norwood came to play and they were much improved!

The upset of the day happened at the B level game where Norwood squeeked by with a 8-6 win over an undefeated Walpole B team; these teams will meet again at the Superbowl this coming weekend. The A game was another surprise with Walpole taking the win over a tough Norwood team, 6-0. Both the C and D teams handily won their final regular season games.

A rather chilly day and evening in Natick for football. In a mostly successful visit to West Street, Walpole football left with 3 shutout victories, while the all-Walpole-players A team left with a crushing defeat and one ambulance ride for the A’s QB (he’s on the mend).

Walpole’s standings remain the same for the B’s and C’s in first place as well as the D’s in third place, the A’s drop to 2nd place.

The Walpole B team helped Framingham with the Grand Re-opening of Bowditch Field on Saturday night, with a hard fought contest of wills; the B team emerged victorious. The rest of the Walpole program enjoyed sunshine and victory on Framingham College’s field.

Thank you to Framingham Youth Football and Cheerleading for hosting a great day. The announcer, the snack shack, the 50/50 raffle, and the hospitality made it a day to remember!

Milton was unable to field a D team, so Brockton offered to bring their D team! Unfortunately, Brockton got lost on the way to Walpole, so the D team scrimmaged themselves by splitting in half and playing each other. The C team game went off without a hitch, as did the B game. Unfortunately, due to injuries, Milton was unable to realistically field an A team and so forfeited giving Walpole the win.

Walpole’s standings remain the same as last week: A, B, and C are in first place; D is in third place.
