Sunday, October 24, 2010. We’ve escaped the 2010 regular season with absolutely beautiful weather for football games. This past Sunday Walpole hosted Norwood for the season closer. Norwood, still smarting from the week 1 crushing it received at the hands of Walpole, came to Turco field looking for redemption. Norwood came to play and they were much improved! The upset of the day happened at the B level game where Norwood squeeked by with a 8-6 win over an undefeated Walpole B team; these teams will meet again at the Superbowl this coming weekend. The A game was another surprise with Walpole taking the win over a tough Norwood team, 6-0. Both the C and D teams handily won their final regular season games.

October 10, 2010. Walpole @ Framingham. Another beautiful day of football and cheerleading (we must be setting some kind of record, weather-wise) in Framingham this past weekend. The Walpole B team helped Framingham with the Grand Re-opening of Bowditch Field on Saturday night, with a hard fought contest of wills; the B team emerged victorious. The rest of the Walpole program enjoyed sunshine and victory on Framingham College’s field. Thank you to Framingham Youth Football and Cheerleading for hosting a great day. The announcer, the snack shack, the 50/50 raffle, and the hospitality made it a day to remember!

October 3, 2010. On a cool, overcast Sunday, Walpole welcomed the Milton Broncos to town for a day of youth football and cheerleading. Milton was unable to field a D team, so Brockton offered to bring their D team but got lost on the way to Walpole. The D team made do by splitting in half and playing each other. The C team game went off without a hitch, as did the B game. Unfortunately, due to injuries, Milton was unable to realistically field an A team and so forfeited giving Walpole the win.

September 26, 2010. Another Sunday, another beautiful and successful day of football at Turco field. Walpole welcomed Weymouth Youth Football and Cheerleading to Walpole High School for Week 4 games. Continuing the trend of high level play and sportsmanship, all 4 Walpole teams enjoyed winning games on the main field. The A, B, and C teams remain in first place of their respective levels, while the D team improves their standing to third place.

September 19, 2010. Walpole enjoyed beautiful weather for it’s home opener games against Needham Youth Football and Cheerleading. Once again, Walpole’s football players excelled on the field with the help and encouragement of the cheerleaders. The A, B, and C teams all sit firmly at the top of their levels!

September 11-12, 2010. Walpole continues to have success on the gridiron. The A team traveled to Brockton for an out-of-conference exhibition game (no effect on standings) and came away with a win. The rest of the Walpole program was hosted in Wellesley with another great day of football and cheering. Thank you to Wellesley Youth Football and Cheerleading for hosting the games.

Sept 5, 2010. Walpole had an unbelievably successful trip to Norwood last Sunday. Every level won their game with some hard fought football at Coakley Middle School in Norwood. Thank you to Norwood Youth Football for hosting the games on a beautiful late Summer day.
